Notes
• Slip resistance is mandatory under EN ISO 20345:2022. Optional extra tests marked SR.
• Midsole penetration protection can be metallic (P) or non-metallic (PL / PS).
• Waterproof markings: WR = fully waterproof footwear, WPA = water penetration & absorption tested.
• Additional markings (e.g., LG) indicate special outsole properties such as ladder grip.
EN ISO 20345 – Safety Footwear
EN ISO 20345:2022 is the current standard for safety footwear with protective toe caps, tested for 200 joules
impact. It supersedes both EN ISO 20345:2011 and the older EN 345 standard. The standard de昀椀nes classes
of footwear (SB, S1–S7) based on features such as toe protection, heel/anti static/energy absorption, water
resistance, midsole penetration protection, and slip-resistant outsoles.

Glove Standards
EN 388:2016 + A1:2018 – Mechanical Protection Gloves
This standard measures a glove’s protection against abrasion, cuts, tearing and puncture.
Results are shown as a series of numbers and letters.
Rating Breakdown:
• Abrasion (1–4): Wear resistance
• Cut/Coup (1–5): Blade cut under circular test
• Tear (1–4): Force needed to tear the glove
• Puncture (1–4): Resistance to sharp points
• TDM Cut (A–F): ISO cut test for high-cut materials
• Impact (P): Optional test; “P” means passed
Example: 4 3 4 2 D P indicates high abrasion/tear resistance, moderate coup-cut and
puncture performance, TDM cut level D, and passed impact protection.
